At the beginning of 2020, a student from the university of Valencia (Spain) did her research at #Moyofarm for her final degree project. She entered a competition, using here final degree project, called “The Planet and Sustainable Development”, a collaboration between the university and the government of Valencia Province, Spain.
Her submission was titled a "Monument to Permaculture: an artistic project to cultivate liberating creativity in times of crisis".
Her research addresses the development of capacity through permaculture focusing on SDG 2 (zero hunger) and 15 (life of terrestrial ecosystems).
Her submission took first prize out of 6 finalists, beating the other 5 finalists that submitted their master’s thesis projects.
The competition is directed by Professor José Luis Albelda Raga, from the Center for Research in Art and Environment of the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV), is an investigation on ecological and collaborative art as a technique to maximize empathy with the problems of climate change in development cooperation.
